OCTOBER IN CONNECT WITH SLOVENE: LET’S EXPLORE SLOVENIA!
September in communiti for learning Slovene language was all about getting ready for the Slovene language exams — with practice exercises for all four levels: **Entry, Basic, Higher and Excellence.
And all of these exercises stay in our classroom, so they’re always available for members to come back to and practise again — just like everything else we’ve explored together - from Slovenian food to Slovene on vacation and beyond.
Now it’s time to leave the exams behind and explore something a little different.
One of the things I love about this community is that the members help shape what we learn.
Members can suggest topics they’d like to explore — and for October, they chose Slovenian places and nature!
So, this month, we’re going to travel through Slovenia in Slovene.
What does Slovenia look like?
Where would you go?
And how does it feel to be there?
We’re exploring Slovenian places and nature — but not like we’re studying a map.
WEEK 1 — WHERE AM I?
We’ll discover Slovenia’s landscapes and regions, from the Alps to the Adriatic, from forests and mountains to rivers, lakes and vineyards.
WEEK 2 — WHERE AM I GOING?
Time to hit the road! We’ll learn about different places around Slovenia and talk about where we’d go, what we’d see and what we’d do there.
WEEK 3 — HOW DOES IT FEEL?
This is where the journey gets more personal.
What do you hear when you’re walking through a forest?
How does it feel to stand on a mountain top?
Where in Slovenia would you go when you need peace, inspiration or simply a little escape?
We’ll use Slovene to describe not only the places we (would love to) visit, but also the experiences they (can) create.
And, as always, our 3 weeks follow the same rhythm:
???? Monday — Listening
???? Tuesday — Reading
???? Wednesday — Grammar
?? Thursday — Writing
So come explore Slovenia with us.
You might discover a new place you’d love to visit.
You might discover a new favourite Slovenian word.
Or you might discover that you can say much more in Slovene than you thought.
See you on the road! ????
